Ten Months Old!

Ellie Grace turned 10 months old on February 19th!
We had quite the special sticker picture session. Don't worry, there were adult hands on the kayak at all times and very close to catching her if need be. :)

*She weighed 20lbs 6oz at her last doctor visit on February 9th. We measured her height and she is 28" tall. That's 2'4"!

*She mostly wears 9 month size clothes, some 6-12 months stuff, depending on the brand, of course.

*I would comment on her little schedule but we've been out of town for almost 2 weeks and it's really crazy so I'm not even going there.

*She eats solids 3x a day and has just a bottle 2x for a total of eating 5x a day.

*She has started to hold her bottle. We start out holding it and then we say, hold your bottle and she does it. It's the neatest thing. Sometimes she'll even go one handed with it!

*She has recently added shredded cheese to her diet. She loves it.

*She crawls! We have been out of town for almost two weeks in a tile only house so I haven't been letting her crawl because the floor is so hard and I don't want her to bust her head open but she can definitely crawl. I know when we get home she is gonna be all over the place.

*She still will not drink from her sippy cup but on the way out of town my mom tried giving her water from a plastic water bottle that has kind of a squeeze top and she has taken more water from that than anything before so I will be keeping one of those on hand.

*She has two teeth on the bottom and FOUR coming in up top. The two top middle ones look ginormous right now.

*If you ask her to show you her teeth she will open her mouth really wide and actually do the ahhhhhh sound. It's so funny.

Side note, I just asked Josh to help me with this. I said, "what would you like to say about Ellie Grace at ten months?" His exact words were, "we'll keep her."

*She can officially sit herself up. It makes for a very interesting diaper changing experience.

*She claps along with patty cake and she even rolls the dough when the time comes. She doesn't quite throw it in the pan yet but we're working on it.

*If you ask her for a kiss she will open her mouth and lean in toward your mouth for a kiss. It's so cute. She won't do it for just anyone though so that's good.

*She waves consistently when she's supposed to and at random times. When I get her up from her nap I tell her we have to put the lovie down in the crib (because she holds onto it until I pry it out of her hands) and tell it bye bye until next time and she waves to it!

*She says mama, dada, and just recently ball. She really likes to play with a ball. I really hope she loves to play catch like I do! Surely she will.

*We've been seeing a lot of planes where we are and she hears the sound of them flying over, raises her arm and looks up and sometimes she actually sees them and watches them.

*We have started to discipline her. She likes to pull other's hair, grab glasses and blow raspberries with food in her mouth. Just to name a few of her offenses. Josh has been popping her hand with a plastic slotted spoon and it seems to work. He enjoys it very much. Honestly, I haven't been able to do it yet. I'm scared. I'm gonna do it though, I know it's best for her. :)

She has made so many advances in the last month. So fun!

OH, I almost forgot to mention, kayaking is now one of her favorite activities. :)

A legend dies, another is born.

Josh's truck is somewhat of a legend amongst those who have seen it. I believe you can see why from the pictures below. It has been his pride and joy since he got it in 2005. Just look at it, what's not to love? :) It's just so utilitarian. He literally has everything he could ever possibly need for work on there. I kind of sound like I'm making fun of it and to some degree I am but it really is useful and he has done a great job of being prepared for whatever may come up at work or at play. (Josh's play is doing work at home or elsewhere, it's his hobby.)

We have been so blessed that Josh has recently gotten a new truck! It is the truck of his dreams and it took him about 3 months to figure out exactly what he wanted and now it has come to fruition and it's just perfect! He loves it and I love it. I feel like I'm driving a semi truck! It's so quiet and the tool boxes are just marvelous. As you can see Ellie Grace approves as well.

All the stuff on the ground is while he was transferring tools from one to the other.

Yes, we did put her in the tool box. :)

May old red rest in peace, she served us well.

Sunday, February 5th

Here is Ellie Grace from this past Sunday, another dress I love.

As you can see, she was really excited about her picture session. She is waking up earlier now so by the time we are ready for the picture session it's really her normal nap time, hence the grumpiness, I think.

She warmed up to the idea, for a second.

down she went

back up again & not happy about it
She has recently started watching me as I put a bow in her hair so she knows it's up there and a few minutes later will search for it in her hair to try and get it out. Of course, she succeeds. I captured the progression on camera. :)

Success!

I have to take it from her real quick or she destroys them or eats them.  :)

I think she's double checking to make sure there's not a second bow in there.

Sunday, January 29th

Here is Ellie Grace from this past Sunday morning. I just love this dress.

This was the best I could do. She won't be still anymore!

And, she's off!

She's been doing this a lot lately.
Then she discovered something new she could do. She hasn't done it again but I know it won't be long before she'll be standing up in there. Time to lower the mattress!

This is her new concerned face. She does it all the time. I think she gets it from me :(

Cute cute

Josh said she looks like a politician giving a speech in this one.
