Baby Update

I thought I'd do a baby update since my due date of December 24th has come and gone and so one day when I'm old I'll remember what happened. My prayers to make it through Christmas were affirmatively answered. I'm very thankful for that. I do however feel like I'm ready to pop. I had a doctor's appointment on December 26 and I am scheduled to be induced on Friday, January 3rd, which is one week from today. Based on the way I'm feeling, it's hard for me to believe he won't come before then but I don't really know anything. I don't feel bad it's just hard to move and keep up with Ellie Grace. I'm still feeling very anxious about his arrival and how life will be with two children. You could say this picture sums up how I think Ellie Grace is going to do with the transition. :)

Christmas 2013

Christmas 2013 has come and gone and it was a great time. I did a horrible job of documenting as usual. I didn't get hardly any pictures of extended family and surely didn't get pictures of all her gifts but it's better than nothing I guess.

waiting to open gifts at Nina's
she got this cute chef's outfit from Nina
she got this cool scooter from Nina too
she really liked wearing the helmet or "helmen" as she calls it
JoJo reading to Ellie Grace, Piper and Bella
she loves her umbrella from Mia & Grandaddy
enjoying Bella's new kindle with her
trying out Piper's goggles that came with her science kit
Then on Thursday the Christmas decor came down. We wanted to get it done in case Mason came. I didn't get any pictures of her helping decorate the tree so I got some of her helping undecorate the tree. She loved it because she was allowed to touch what had been forbidden for so long.

saying goodbye to the train

Lately

Here's what we've been up to lately.

taking advantage of the warm weather a few weeks ago

Josh has been at it again. Well, really he never stopped, I just haven't blogged about it. Anywho, he made us a new cabinet for over our toilet.

the cabinet we had for 8 years

the new pallet cabinet

lots o' storage

Ellie Grace is in love with Doc McStuffins right now and I'm okay with that because it is a very cute show. So her favorite thing to do lately is get a check up or to give you or her toys a check up. Here she is getting a check up from Mia & Grandaddy.

we had Hannah & Bella over one day while BeeBee took Piper to the doctor

a breakfast picnic with Daddy

whatever it takes to get food in that girl these days

putting golf tees in a foam pad, the idea was to put the tees in the foam and then balance marbles on the tees, she wasn't feeling it but she enjoyed dropping the tees in an empty milk jug

I love our tree

riding lessons inside since it was so cold, she's almost got the peddling down,
steering needs some work

you can barely tell in this picture but Josh is very intense

ready for her Christmas party at MDO

Okay, if you are getting sick of seeing things Josh has made, I do apologize but I must document his talents. This is a picture frame he made. We are going to do progressive ultrasound pictures of each of our children and then the fourth spot will be a picture of them out of the womb. I'm pretty excited about it.

more in Mason's room

Christmas card holder, that's chicken wire in there.
The rest of the year I'll put pictures and artwork in there.

in her Christmas dress that BeeBee made for her this year

Josh has done the most wonderful thing two Saturdays in December. We have a children's museum membership and he has taken her on a CMOM date. She has loved it. The next 3 pics are from those dates.

sometimes when you're washing dishes you get thirsty

Ellie Grace has a book that is the Christmas story and it talks about angry King Herod and this is Ellie Grace's finest King Herod impression. She really is posing like they have him drawn in the book. She's a mess.

It's been quite a while....

Here's what we've been up to lately.

Josh & I were able to go Nashville all by our lonesomes for 3 nights a few weeks ago. It was the bomb dot com! We went to a Titans game on Thursday night. It was a bit chilly but very fun even though they lost.

I asked Josh to give me a face that expressed his excitement. Pretty good, definitely cute.

We just liked this little display. We spent a lot of time in Franklin. It was a cute area.

One day we went to a state park & went on a trail walk that was around this lake. It was very pretty.

Josh loves fall foliage.

Saturday night we went to Josh's first ever NHL game, my second. It was fun. They take so many long breaks & that was annoying. We did find out that NHL fans are very enthusiastic & serious about their team. Apparently the two teams playing (Predators & Blackhawks) are long time rivals so tensions were high.

While we were gone EG was well taken care of. She stayed with my parents 2 nights & with Nina one night. She had a blast & did great.

She got in some play time with Saylor. Saylor wasn't thrilled about being in the tent.

Aunt Whitney always does Ellie Grace a cute hairdo.

Ok now back to home.

Who knew Kcups could provide so much fun. She enjoyed putting them in a line.

Helping me make a pumpkin pie. She likes the batter but not the finished product.

I decided to take EG to the children's museum two Wednesdays ago. We were there about 20 minutes. There was some exhibit that would make a really loud noise every 2 minutes and Ellie Grace could not function. She doesn't like loud noises at all. I tried to get her to go on but it just wasn't happening. Also there was at least one field trip there. Big kids are scary & rude when on a field trip. They need to have a no 'field trips allowed' day.

We did get some grocery shopping done while we were there until those big kids came busting in like they owned the joint.

Dancing around like a beautiful princess as she likes to say.

So when we left the CMOM we headed to the mall to ride the horses, eat lunch & play on the playground. While on the playground the big kids struck again. There needs to be some rule on that thing about age or height or something. We did share a Dairy Queen hot fudge sundae & she loved that, mainly the fudge sauce.

Daddy got rained out of work on that Friday and they had fun playing in puddles. She loves to do that.

I was at a friends house Friday morning & her husband put this 0.0 sticker over my 13.1 sticker. Very funny. That really is more representative of the running I do these days. I'm leaving it til it falls off.

Josh sometimes gets a hankering for an open flame. He borrowed my brothers fire pit & we had a "bonfire" on the back patio. We roasted hot dogs & made s'mores. Big surprise but I didn't enjoy it, it just made me nervous cuz the wind was blowing & making the fire whip around & we have a toddler, need I say more?

They loved it though.

Mesmerized either by the fire or the chocolate.

We had the bumbo out for Saylor & the next day EG wanted to color in it. She is gonna be using all of Mason's stuff when he comes.

Had to wake this up on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Josh has been at it again with his craftiness. We needed a chest of drawers for EG's room because all her storage is now Mason's. So we went to Salvation Army & found this hideous piece. You should have seen the shenanigan it was to get this in my car with EG's car seat in the back seat.

Anywho, he turned it into this. Love it. He's so amazing.

He also redid this rocking chair that has been on our patio for at least 4 years. It was a very shiny baby blue & now it has  this beautiful look. The glider is in Mason's room but I still needed a chair in her room for reading time so this fit the bill perfectly.

This play kitchen was in the playroom which is now Mason's room so now it's in her room, love it. I'm excited how everything is coming together for our new addition.

Then my personal handyman built these bookshelves from old pallets. Love them & they are exactly what we needed & a good use of that would be wasted space between the wall & her bed.

We went to snappy tomato pizza one night as a family. I like it. Ellie Grace pretends she likes pizza then when the time comes she changes her tune. Real fun.

She did like the cinnamon dessert pizza, big surprise.

A wonderful thing happened on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, Josh got rained out of work & it was parents day at MDO so he got to come. Such a blessing! It was really fun to see her in her class. I was worried about how'd she do with us there but she did so great.

Here they are in circle time.

There's our little pilgrim.

We did a craft with her while we were there. My large belly made an appearance in that picture, it has a mind of its own.

The craft was a leaf banner & we were to write what she was thankful for on each leaf. She said she was thankful for leaves, mommy, daddy & Avery (our 7 yr old next door neighbor). We hung it on the TV stand.

Having a snack with the class. It was her first time having popcorn. She wasn't a huge fan.

Josh bought this to protect himself from all this spray painting he's been doing. EG does not like to see this mask. She doesn't like to see it on him or lying idly on the floor.,

The pallet letters are complete! Love them! He could sell these easily.

I'm a loser and didn't get any pictures for anything we did Thanksgiving related but we had some great celebrations.

We stayed the night at my parents two nights Thanksgiving week bc it's like going to a resort & it was so nice. Friday morning we went to Danvers for breakfast & it was great. I love to eat out for breakfast.

Apparently she likes it too. Eggs and bacon are some of her faves.

Grandaddy & his favorite. ;)

We had to make a Lowe's run after breakfast & EG & I hung in the car while Daddo ran in. It took him a bit longer than I expected, perhaps due to him browsing the black Friday deals, no doubt.

Grandaddy stopped by later that day to see our Christmas decor & to see the big girl bed in person.

So we put up Christmas decor & EG helped but I didn't take any pictures cuz it was just me & her putting up ornaments & I was too busy trying to make sure she didn't break any or pull the tree down. Maybe I'll do a staged reinactment to get some pictures.

He really does look excited.

Indoor picnic.

Chilling with daddo. EG likes to call him that these days.

Ready for church this past Sunday. She had quite the congested cough & snot nose so we kept her out of nursery & took her to big church with us. She lasted about 20 minutes. Won't be doing that again anytime soon.

Decorating her personal Christmas tree.

Due to the cough & snot & eventual fever we went to the doc on Monday morning. Doc said it was just viral & she is getting better. I think she's on the mend. She's so big & did do well while the doc checked her out.

So on the way home from the doc we passed a snow cone stand and she asked me what it was so I told her it's a place where they sell ice that has flavoring in it & it's similar to ice cream & she said, "can we go to the ice cream store, please? I like ice cream." Seeing as how she was sick I just couldn't say no so we went to Yogurt Mountain. Well she liked about 2 bites & was done. It was really disappointing. I enjoyed mine & hers though.

Finger painting fun with daddo. If we do end up homeschooling I think Josh will do arts & crafts. If you know me well, that makes complete sense to you.

Goodness me that was a lot of pics, I need to do better & not wait so long to post.

Might as well do a pregnancy update whilst I'm here. I'm 37 weeks & doing well. Had a check up today & everything was looking good. Really wish I could know the future. I don't want to be in the hospital for Christmas! The thing I'm most looking forward to about not being pregnant is getting my movability back. I'm like an 80 yr old right now. Poor Ellie Grace has no room in my lap. When she sits in my lap she fidgets around constantly trying to get comfortable. I'm excited to meet Mason but very anxious about how this whole transition is going to go.

That's all for now.
