Longhandles and Lovies

The purpose of this post is twofold. One is to show how cute she is in these pajamas that I think look like old timey longhandles (aka longjohns or long underwear). Second is to reveal her new lovie, which was lovingly hand crafted by her Aunt BeeBee. How Aunt BeeBee finds time to make such a thing with all she's got going on, we have no idea, but we greatly appreciate it. Ellie Grace has thoroughly enjoyed it so far. She pulls it up over her face while she's falling asleep.
It's so cute.

Loving that lovie!
I realize she may be forming an attachment to it but it really seems to help her fall asleep and right now that's all that matters. Can I get an amen from all the parents in the audience? We'll let her future husband deal with it if she still has it by then. :)

Sunday Dress Photo Shoot

I've decided I will do a post for each Sunday to document her dress.
Since Ellie Grace is so blessed to have three older girl cousins we have many many many hand me down dresses and since she is so blessed to have a very stylish Aunt BeeBee all of the dresses are cute! Here is the one from today. I do love green.

Don't worry Josh was standing nearby during this unsupported standing position. :)

Her bloomers have an embroidered E but I failed to photograph them.

Rice Cereal: The other white meat.

Ellie Grace had her four month check up last Tuesday. She did great and took her shots like a trooper. She weighed 15 pounds 7 ounces and was 24.5 inches tall. The doctor gave me the go ahead to begin rice cereal. How exciting! Well we tried it twice on Saturday and both feedings ended with her crying. I'm not sure why. I tried feeding it to her before giving her a bottle and I think she was just ready to have her bottle by the end. I didn't get any pictures while she was eating, only this one of her anxiously awaiting her meal.

This was her first time in her space saving high chair, which I really love. It's so neat and fits in one of our kitchen table chairs. We took Sunday off from rice cereal but the fun will resume on Monday.

Zoo Fun

On Friday, Ellie Grace and I went to the zoo with Aunt BeeBee, Bella, Hannah and Piper. We went early so it wouldn't be so so hot and it ended up being really nice weather. There was lots of shade too. Ellie Grace rode in her stroller like a big girl (without the car seat) for the first time for a long period of time. I think she enjoyed it.

All the girls inside the Teton Trek building. (nicest bathrooms on the property)

The polar bears are my favorite.

Sweet Piper

Ellie Grace obviously enjoyed herself.
I wanted to post this picture in honor of Ashley and Kate, who both love giraffes.

Pretty in Pink

Props to Mrs. Beverly Hale for giving us this beautiful dress!

This is from last Sunday. I just had to post this picture because I think she's so cute. The crib corner is my new favorite spot to take her picture, it's just so supportive.  Ellie Grace already has the Sunday nap syndrome. She takes the best naps on Sunday. I think it's because Mrs. Karen wears her out in the nursery. Below is an example of a Sunday nap from two weeks ago.

Piper's Party

Ellie Grace's precious cousin Piper had her first birthday party this past Saturday. It was loads of fun even though we had to move it from outside to inside due to a sudden storm. Here are some pics from the event.

The birthday girl enjoying her own cupcake!

Ellie Grace & her best friend Kate enjoying the festivities. The buns are compliments of their dads. I would like to point out that the bottle is Lea & Perrins worcesteshire, not an alcoholic beverage. :)

Sweet friends: Anna Grace, Isabella, Grace Ann, Lily & Alyssa
Andy & Beth threw a great birthday party, as usual. Before you know it, I'll be posting about Ellie Grace's first birthday party.

Cadillac Cutie

About 4 months into our pregnancy, Josh and I realized that we needed a third car because his truck is in no condition to have a passenger, especially one as precious as Ellie Grace. Josh found a great deal on Craig's List for a used Cadillac Deville with low mileage.  Of course, I was hesitant at first because I was pretty sure that there was an unwritten law that you have to be at least 55 to own a Cadillac Deville but Josh quickly reminded me that we don't abide by unwritten laws. So we got the Caddy and have thoroughly enjoyed it's smooth ride and spacious interior, even though everyone laughs at us when they see us roll up. Anyway, all that to say, this past Saturday Josh was doing some work on the Caddy and needed my help. So my sidekick and I went out to help him. All we did was turn the key but we got some cute shots of Ellie Grace behind the wheel.

Josh always says that this will be Ellie Grace's first car and if it is still around in 16 years, I'm sure it will be. Can't you see how excited she is about that?

Crib Mates

As seen below, Ellie Grace has a very silly Daddy. I was turned around for 30 seconds in Ellie Grace's room and I looked over and Josh had climbed in her crib without me knowing, I died laughing. I think he was inspired by Luis, our friend who had recently gotten in his son's crib.

Ellie Grace loves her Dad and he loves her. She and I are very thankful for him.

From Zero to Four Months in a Flash

Hello everyone!

For our first post I've decided to show all of Ellie Grace's month birthday pictures thus far. I thought it was appropriate because today happens to be her 4 month birthday.

I wish I could blog about what she was doing at each of the past months but of course I can't remember so I will only say what is going on right now in her little life at the end of the post.

Zero: Taken on kitchen counter at approximately 6 days old.
One: Taken in Gatlinburg.
Two: Taken in her room sitting in her glider.
Three: Taken in the den.
Four: I believe it's obvious where she is here. :)
(I couldn't resist posting two of the 4 month pictures because they are so very cute to me.)

Ellie Grace is at a very sweet stage in her fourth month. She is smiling at us a lot, sometimes for no apparent reason. Other times, it's because we are being silly trying to make her smile. She is trying to sit up a lot. I finally enjoy giving her a bath in her whale tub because my mom gave me a great idea. I will not share that idea here so I don't embarrass Ellie Grace. She also seems to enjoy the bath. She is grabbing onto things and bringing them to her mouth. She still has that stinkin pacifier and continuously drops it only to fuss until it gets put back in, a nonstop source of frustration for her mom and dad. She is drooling a ton and rubbing it all over her face, which has caused some sort of rash on her face. I medicate it constantly but it won't go away. Maybe I'm overmedicating. She loves to stand up and we love to have her stand up because she just looks so much like a little person. We know she is a person but there's just something about it when she stands up. She is currently sleeping on her side and holding on to a burp cloth while she sleeps, which is so cute. Her Aunt BeeBee is very upset that she sleeps with a burp cloth and not a real "lovie." I would like to point out that it is one of those cute flowery burp cloths and not just a white one. Hardly noticeable as a burp cloth to the untrained eye. :)

I would like to close out this first post with somewhat of a disclaimer and a plea for the blog. Please do not critique the grammar or punctuation of this blog because I do know there will be many misdemeanors and I do not have time to concern myself with them. It will also not be in chronological order as I will be posting about the past and current events simultaneously. Please do not judge me for such. Thanks for stopping by.
